Meriem Bennani (b. 1988, Morocco) is an artist whose work spans video, installation, and animation, using a hybrid visual language that blends documentary aesthetics, internet ephemera, and speculative fiction. Drawing from pop culture and diasporic experiences, her practice explores themes of identity, surveillance, and social transformation with humor and subversive playfulness. Often working with 3D animation and motion graphics, Bennani constructs layered narrative environments where reality and fantasy coalesce. Her installations propose alternative futures shaped by community, resilience, and the absurd, inviting viewers to navigate complex cultural systems through immersive and often irreverent scenarios.

Meriem Bennani lives and works in New York. Her work has been exhibited at institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art and The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
