A conversation will take place with artist Yngve Holen on the occasion of the launch of Stavanger Secession. The talk will revisit Holen’s practice through the lens of techno-industrial systems such as cars, planes, and 5G, understood as double-edged inventions that function both as tools of progress and potential catastrophes. It will examine the accident as a structural condition of modern infrastructure, shaped by speed, politics, and control systems. Drawing on Paul Virilio’s concepts of dromology and the “museum of accidents,” the conversation will propose a framework for imagining industrial failure as exhibition form.
