Kids Workshop: Alt-for-Barna,
House for Pigs and Children
House for Pigs and Children

Organized in collaboration with Alt-for-Barna, Stavanger’s festival dedicated to children and families, this workshop takes place inside Stavanger Secession’s presentation of House for Pigs and Children, the architectural project by Carsten Höller and Rosemarie Trockel. Derived from House for Pigs and People, first presented at documenta X in 1997, and later reconfigured as House for Pigs and Children at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris in 1998, the version presented here focuses on the space designed for children. The structure becomes a playful setting where children can gather to watch a short film about pigs and reflect on the relationships between animals and humans. Through conversation and collective activities, the workshop introduces younger audiences to ideas about shared habitats, perception, and care across species, transforming the installation into a space for learning, imagination, and discovery.
All events are open to the public and free of charge.
