House for Pigs and People

Organized in collaboration with Alt-for-Barna, Stavanger’s festival dedicated to children and families, this workshop takes place inside Stavanger Secession’s re-enactment of House for Pigs and People, the architectural project by Carsten Höller and Rosemarie Trockel initially created for documenta X. The installation recreated for Stavanger Secession 2026 reproduces a later re-enactment of the same pavilion presented at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris in 1998. The structure becomes a playful setting where children can gather to watch a short film about pigs and reflect on the relationships between animals and humans. Through conversation and collective activities, the workshop introduces younger audiences to ideas about shared habitats, perception, and care across species, transforming the installation into a space for learning, imagination, and discovery.
Project in collaboration with the Alt-for-Barna festival.
